Customer Reviews about American Dream Real Estate:

  • Leanord it was not easy to deal with but that is part of his job to be restrict about his job, every single person that ask us who we was renting from say he isn't going to return your deposit, people tell us dont clean the place he isnt going to give you nothing back. We rent 2 years for him and he did return us are deposit what was corresponding us. Thank you for let us rent from you even if we didn't have a good credit, he believed in us.

  • We came here 4 years ago, we did not know anyone. Leonard was very good to us. We moved into a house in Anacortes and never had a problem When something needs repairing, I call the office and they are very quick to send someone to fix the problem! Leonard helped us when we needed it. Its very much appreciated

A very unprofessional company. We rented a home for almost a year and a half that American Dream was managing. The staff is not very polite, nor are they very honest. If you are able, avoid using American Dream in Anacortes. If you do have to work with them, however, make sure you get whatever promises they say in writing. Their word is not good unless it is in writing. Also, get a copy of every document you sign, especially your vacate notice at the end of your commitment, and keep a very good record of your paperwork. You may need to produce your own copies in case they lose theirs and claim that you did not actually turn in certain documents. Here is what happened to my husband and I: After a year of a perfect record of paying our rent early each month, my husband and I were ready to find and buy a home. American Dream told us that we were all set to pay month-to-month without worrying about signing a new lease. We were told this by multiple people on separate occasions, so we trusted them. The week after our lease was up and we were paying month-to-month, American Dream called, telling us that the owner wanted to know our intentions and that if we didn't sign a new lease, we would be asked to leave. This was a surprise to us! When I politely inquired as to why they didn't tell use that it was the owner's discretion with regards to the tenants paying month-to-month, the receptionist countered by asking me in a very spiteful tone of voice why my husband and I didn't use them as our realtor for our house hunt. No apologies and no explanations. She was spiteful toward us when we were the ones put in a rough place. In addition to this, when we did submit our paperwork, letting them know our vacate date, they lost that "vacate notice" document that I had signed. If I hadn't called and asked for a copy, I wouldn't have known that they were unable to locate that document (which is very important - you lose your deposit if you don't submit that document by a certain date). Lastly, we had to pay $200 for American Dream to pay someone to "deep clean" the house for the next tenants/owners. If my husband hadn't called American Dream on the last day of our lease, they would have forgotten to even schedule the cleaning (we wanted to be sure the next tenants/owners moved into a clean home). My husband was there when the cleaning professional was finishing up her work on the place. When my husband asked, she said that she was called that morning for the job (right after my husband had called American Dream) and that she would charge American Dream only $60. Because it was in our contract, though, we had $200 deducted from our deposit. In the end, everything worked out. We were able to sign a new lease for only 4 months, which allowed us to find a home. Thanks to my gut instinct to check up on our vacate notice (which they had lost), I was able to go in and sign a new vacate notice the day before the deadline, and we got our deposit back. My goodness, it was a headache working with American Dream. My advice to you - Avoid working with American Dream if you can.
